Kirby Smart Clears the Air on Opt-Outs
Kirby Smart delivered some great news during his news conference with the media on Saturday evening. After a week filled with headlines regarding the bowl game’s expected opt-outs, Coach Smart cleared the air on who’s in and who’s out.
Per Anthony Dasher of UGASports.com, “Kirby Smart said that Azeez Ojulari will play in the Peach Bowl… Said Ben Cleveland, Monty Rice, Eric Stokes, and Tre McKitty will not.” Dasher said in a tweet that some of the expected opt-outs will play this coming Friday on New Year’s Day against Cincinnati.
Smart continues to emphasize in his meetings with the media that he wants to focus on the guys who will play. Smart and his staff made this the central message on opt-outs and how they will approach bowl games.
In other news starting center, Trey Hill will not be available to play on Friday after surgeries to repair minor injuries in his knee.
