Breaking News: D'Wan Mathis has Left the Team

The former four-star quarterback from Belleville, Michigan, D’Wan Mathis, is no longer with the team according to Dawgs 247.

Mathis is the former starting quarterback for Georgia against Arkansas. Mathis would survive just six drives into the season opener before being pulled.

Mathis is rated as a pro-style quarterback coming out of high school. But Mathis isn’t the prototypical pro-style pocket passing quarterback. D’Wan brings a strong arm and excellent mobility as a quarterback.

Mathis only started one game in time as a Bulldog. Mathis missed his freshman season in 2019 due to brain surgery to remove a cyst from the brain. The cyst was discovered shortly after Georgia finished up spring camp, where Mathis participated.

Mathis is expected to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.
