Breaking News: Nyland Green Commits to the G!

For weeks the decision of Nyland Green was talked about throughout the recruiting world. Green, the four-star cornerback from Newton High, is one of the top cornerbacks in the 2021 recruiting class.

Many of the nation’s top programs all vyed for the commitment of Newton High product. Georgia, Clemson, Auburn, Tennessee, and LSU made serious pushes. But only one school was going to land Nyland Green.

After weeks of suspense, Nyland Green committed to the University of Georgia. A primary target in the 2021 recruiting class officially joined the Georgia recruiting class Tuesday morning.

The six-foot 2-inch defensive back boasts impressive ball skills to go with tremendous leaping ability—a two-sport athlete who excels at dunking on the basketball court. A true two-way player as he excels at defensive back and receiver for his high school team.

Green’s ability as a cornerback excites coaches and fans the most. His long frame and excellent ball skills bring the potential for a matchup nightmare. The height and hops of the Newton High product provide Green with an advantage in the air.

Physicality at the line of scrimmage and fluidity in his movement gives him a promising skill set for a big outside cover corner.

The potential losses for Georgia in the secondary this offseason demands reinforcements in the offseason. Mark Webb, DJ Daniel, Eric Stokes, and Tyson Campbell could all depart Athens for the NFL this offseason. Bringing in talented, high upside corners like Green helps fill the void.
