Georgia Escapes Scary Halloween Noon Game

Georgia escapes a spooky performance on the road against Kentucky on Halloween. The Bulldogs seemed to be stuck in the bye week still as they beat Kentucky 14-3 in a battle of the run game.

Georgia’s gameplan called for a heavy dosage of the running backs of Georgia. Zamir White stood out this time for the Dawgs with 131 yards and one touchdown on 25 carries. A career-high performance for the man named Zeus as he pounded the Wildcats to the tune of a 100 plus yard performance.

The offensive line paved the way for the Georgia offense as they cleared holes for the running backs to run through. Georgia outrushed the Wildcats with 213 yards compared to the 147 yards from Kentucky.

Without George Pickens, the Georgia passing game was missing. Stetson Bennett is under fire after a two-interception performance with no passing touchdowns. Bennett has thrown five interceptions in the last two games this season and seems to be struggling.

Bennett threw for 131 yards on nine completions of 13 attempts. Bennett scored a rushing touchdown early on a read-option keeper knocking on the Kentucky goal-line. But that would be the only touchdown the mailman delivered as he struggled in the passing game with a stingy Kentucky defense.

A one-dimensional offensive performance saw Georgia score a season-low 14 points through four quarters.

It wasn’t the best start for the Georgia defense as Kentucky had their way in the first half on the ground against a great Georgia defense.

But you have to give credit to the defensive unit as they held Kentucky to only a field goal after staying on the field for a total of 35 minutes and some change.

Georgia didn’t come out of this game healthy as several defensive playmakers went down with an injury. Jordan Davis and Julian Rochester both left the game with injuries, while DJ Daniel and Quay Walker were banged up.

Georgia’s struggling offensive performance against Kentucky begs the questions, does Georgia need to make changes? The battle for the SEC East will once again come down to the Georgia-Florida game next week in Jacksonville.
