Georgia Runs Through South Carolina 45-16
It didn’t take long for the Dawgs to take control of the game against South Carolina. Former teammates at Georgia in the 90s, Mike Bobo and Kirby Smart, faced off in the latest edition of the Georgia-South Carolina rivalry.
Mike Bobo earned the title of interim head coach of the Gamecocks after firing fellow Georgia alumni Will Muschamp. A young, attrition filled Gamecock squad did not hang with the Dawgs through four quarters.
Georgia jumped on South Carolina with a quick 21 point first-quarter lead. The Dawgs were determined to bully the undersized South Carolina front seven. After rushing just for eight yards a week ago, the Dawgs ran for 208 yards through two-quarters of play.
The gameplan for Georgia on offense was clear from the beginning as Todd Monken wanted to see his offense run the ball effectively. It was a bounce-back game for the offensive line as they opened up holes for all five of the Georgia running backs that played out of the backfield.
Georgia finished the performance with 332 yards, which saw four running backs record over 75 yards rushing. A dominant performance on the road that called JT’s number 16 times as he completed ten passes for 139 yards, 2 touchdowns, and just one interception.
